How Long?
Psalm 13
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
Reflection of Bee:
The Psalmist asked a question which I have been asking God too, "How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?" Sometimes I thought they were gone when I was busy, but whenever I had free moments or saw certain things that remind, those thoughts and sorrows returned.
Christians are still humans and have struggles in life too. The only comfort we have is that when we couldn't take it anymore we can cry out to God. Then His assurance comes again to console us and recuse us from destructions. Only God's love is "unfailing". He doesn't leave us when we needed someone to be with us most, unlike humans. We can trust in Him.
All things said, we should grow to be like the Lord in terms of comforting others instead of making the excuse that we are humans, therefore can be selfish and desert our friends when they need encouragements. We are to reflect the characters of God if we have spent time with the Master.
Dear Lord,
Thank You that You understand what I have gone through. Thank You for Your sustaining power. In all these sorrows I want to trust in Your unfailing love. Let Your joy rules my heart despites of the things that make me sorrowful. Praise You for always coming to my rescue.
In Your name I praise You. Amen.

1 How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.
