What Money Can’t Buy
Isaiah 55:1-7
Invitation to the Thirsty
Reflection of Bee:
The topic in tonight's devotion is a confirmation of my discussion this evening with my prospective employer.
Though this company may not be able to pay as well since it's a new startup, but it can offer me "what money can't buy". It can give me the opportunity to put into practice all that I have learned in my past employment and also the blessings that will come with the opportunities to share God's love. It also will give me the opportunity to do what I always wanted to do without restriction, unlike in most companies I worked with.
I feel that the above passage is an assurance for me to take up the challenge of the new employment which I was apprehensive in accepting initially because of the heavy responsibility with lower pay. Now I feel more at peace.
Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your peace and assurance through tonight's devotion concerning my possible career. I pray that if it's Your will, all things will turn out well. Thank You that for Your faithful love towards me.
Right now I also want to pray for my friend, Tommy, who is feeling very sick with flu. In Jesus' name I pray for a quick recovery. I pray that tonight he can sleep well so he will wake up in the morning feeling well again. You said You are the God that heals, so I trust that Your healing will be upon my dear friend.
In Jesus' lovely name I pray. Amen.
Invitation to the Thirsty
1 "Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
2 Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
3 Give ear and come to me;
hear me, that your soul may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.
4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander of the peoples.
5 Surely you will summon nations you know not,
and nations that do not know you will hasten to you,
because of the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
for he has endowed you with splendor."
6 Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
